Ice Shanty Rental
Just put out today (1/24), more images to follow. Current location has yielded prized Lake Trout in the SL fishing derby (good job Jeff). Other species include Pike (image attached), Perch, Salmon, Smelt and others.
-Shanty is 8x10 with an open floor. This allows for drilling multiple holes inside of shanty and keeps the structure very mobile. Please wear proper footwear for standing on ice.
-The heater is a propane Little Buddy with a 20lb tank. If not familiar with this heater, we can arrange to meet and give instruction.
-If you plan to move the shanty via snowmobile/4wheeler, please let Colin know. You will need some basic supplies to tether to ice at new location.
-Delivery to lakefront rental property is available. Please provide address as early as possible so we can properly scout the shoreline for dangers.
MOST IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ:
-Preservation of our lake is of the utmost importance. Whatever you leave on the ice ends up in the lake. Please carry in/carry out and do not litter (includes cigars/cigarettes).
-You must respect all DEC regulations regarding bait and catches. Our lake has a healthy fish population because of these rules. All sizing and catch limits are clearly posted inside of shanty. ENCON regularly patrols and you will be held accountable for your actions.
-You must possess a NYS fishing license. There are several places locally that sell them. Let us know if you need one.
-Please always use caution when on frozen lakes or ponds. Ice thickness will be tested and reported regularly. Check with Colin before driving your vehicle out.
2017 RATES:
WEEKEND DAY, $50
ALL WEEKEND, $80 (can drop gear Fri. PM)
WEEKDAY, $35
ADDITIONAL WEEKDAY, $20
GUIDE SERVICE (6-7hrs), +$100/DAY
Includes: All equipment and bait for up to 2 people (add $25 each additional person). Guide will assist in drilling holes and instruct on proper bating and jigging techniques*. Fish cleaning service can be directly negotiated with guide.
*Time of day, moon phase, barometric pressure, outside temp, lake temp, lake level, time of season, exact location/depth and luck all play into the sport of ice fishing. There is no guarantee of catching fish, just of having fun trying.
