1998 Peterbilt 357 Dump Truck Tri-Axle


⭕ 1998 Peterbilt 357 Dump Truck Tri-axle with C-12 Cat and 8LL transmission. Truck is showing 224,000 on new speedo/odometer and it was replaced when truck had 600,000 miles on it. So truck has around 824,000 miles. The engine had a in-frame done right around the 600,000 mile mark. Truck runs great and is still used every day. Has dual stacks (straight pipe), 13.5 drop visor, sliding tarp (drop axle is MD certified) 20k front axle and 46k drives. Truck used to be a NJ truck years ago and was certified for 80,000 lbs

Truck has 20 foot Aluminum body

New in 2015
-complete rear suspension rebuild ($8300.00)
-New air compressor and governor assem
-2 new ujoints
-New PTO and reman pump assem
-Reman starter and 3 batteries
-Transmission rebuild (was jumping out of 2 gears-is perfect now)
-Complete clutch kit and throw out bearing
-New rear engine mounts and bolts on each side of bellhousing
-New weatherstrips around the doors and in the window tracks

New in 2016
-New waterpump and gaskets and coolant
-Rebuilt helper steering cylinder
-New radiator
-Complete front end suspension rebuild (new springs and hangers and ubolts $3300.00)
-New drop axle valve
-New drop axle inside switch
-New clutch linkage
-New serp belt tensioner and belt
-Complete fan clutch rebuilt
-Air filter
-Air drier filter replaced and drier valve


Like I said truck is used everyday and runs and drives great. Could use TLC on a few small things but nothing to keep it from working and making money.

Needs (suggestions)
-Right rear hinge on bed is getting play in it and moving where it bolts through frame of bed
-a few tires getting low and chopped (steers and complete rear axle tires are great--drop axles and one on the front drive axle could use replacing)
-some corrosion on the fuse box from windshield leaking in the past (which is now fixed) keeps the AC from working properly but the AC is hotwired to a external switch and does blow real cold
-1 set of brakes getting low
