A heifer can deliver healthy calves from approx. 2 to 14 years of age. After they can no longer have calves they are mostly sold at auction and the buyers call them canners & cutters. This may mean they are cut up and put in cans for chili or other canned meats, lunch meats etc.etc. Did you ever purchased a certain cut of meat one time, tender & flavorful and the next time you purchased the same cut of meat it was so tough you could hardly chew up to eat it? Ask your doctor if the old cows thick fat is good for clogging your arteries and if he or she considers the meat to be heart healthy!
When we pick a calf out of our pasture (grass fed) and deliver it to the butcher shop you can see exactly what you are buying. In my opinion it will be young, tender tasty beef cut and wrapped just like you like it and ready to feed the whole family. Light beef should be prepared differently than heavy beef so check out the recipes for young beef.
We have young butcher calfs that weight approximately 450 to 600 lbs walking weight. Charlotte Beef Masters, Black Angus, etc. We try to make a trip to the butcher shop about every 90 days.
We offer to sell 1/4 of a butcher calf cut and wrapped just as you request, steaks, etc. so tell the butcher how you want it processed. The butchering process will be between you and the butcher so we can not be responsible for the different distribution or cuts of the meat you work out with the butcher. You may purchase as many quarters as you like. Send your e-mail and we will send you pictures.
1.) Front quarter CL $375 each
2.) Rear quarter CL $495 each
Please mail your deposit for 50% of your purchase price to Jim to reserve your quarters. Please list of the quarters you desire, ie front, rear and how many of each.
All calves are raised on our property with no hormones or meat enhancement drugs. These calves in my opinion are raised and butchered for heart health conscience people.
We are a small operation and only wish to seek out a small amount of customers.
Also you will need to pick up your meat from Meat Packaging in Navasota, Tx.

PS: I was in a grocery store the other day and a lady was purchasing one beef tenderloin and the cost was $12.99 a pound or $103.00 for approx. 8 lbs of meat.
